Reviews From Happy Home Buyers

I would recommend Darrena to be your realtor without hesitation. She put effort beyond measure through the entire home buying process. My husband and I felt like Darrena was looking after us and was on our side every step of the way!

Darrena was incredible to work with! She was on top of everything and always made time for us. She is incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and helpful. We were first time home buyers and she helped us through the process every step of the way. We are so thankful for Darrena and couldn’t recommend her more!

Darrena was a pleasure to work with. She’s very knowledgeable and ready to embrace new and challenging situations when they arise. Buying a property is always a fairly complicated process, but Darrena made it as straightforward and streamlined as I could have hoped for. I would definitely work with her again.

Darrena was the best! We were initially going to just look at rental properties, but with her extensive knowledge and experience she helped us to realize we were capable of buying our first home. Helpful, responsive, easy to work with and kind! 10/10. 🙂

Darrena helped us buy our first home and we couldn’t be more pleased. She listened to what we wanted and found us a number of houses to check out (one of them being perfect!). She is extremely knowledgeable of the area, what to look for when checking out a potential home, and well rounded in all aspects of the process. She was always willing to go the extra mile and think of things we never would have looked for / known to ask as first time home buyers. Communication is top notch and I cannot ... Read More

Darrena was with us from the first house we viewed, to the final house we purchased. She could not have made our lives easier during the home-buying process. As first time home-buyers we had plenty of questions and Darrena was always quick to respond with a response that effectively clarified our inqueries. We were very lucky to find Darrena and have her on our side from start to finish. We could not recommend her enough!

Darrena and her team at Home Sweet Home are incredible to work with. Not only do they know the market and what it takes to buy/sell a home in this competitive Raleigh market as well as anyone, but they also make the experience as low-stress and enjoyable as possible. Darrena is unbelievably organized, responsive, and helpful without being forceful; she will never pressure you to do anything you aren’t 100% comfortable with. Even though it feels like Darrena is always “hustling” for us, she ... Read More

Home Buyer FAQs

Below you will find some of the most frequently asked questions a home buyer may have. Reponses are provided by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.

What services might a buyer agent provide?

Whether you have a written or unwritten agreement, a buyer agent will perform a number of services for you- These may include: helping you find a suitable property, arrange financing, learn more about the property, and otherwise promote your best interests. If you have a written agency agreement, the agent can also help you prepare and submit a written offer to the seller.

What happens if the buyer agency agreement expires?

If the buyer agency agreement expires after you entered into a contract to purchase a property, then your agent may continue to represent you through the date of the closing
and you may be responsible for compensating the firm in accordance with the provisions of the buyer agency agreement. If you are not under contract to buy a property when your buyer agency agreement expires, then your agent must immediately stop representing you unless you first enter into a new buyer agency agreement with the agent.

What is “Due Diligence”?

“Due Diligence” is the buyer’s opportunity to engage in a process of further investigation of the property and the transaction as described in the Offer to Purchase form within a period of time agreed to by the seller and buyer.

What is the “Due Diligence” Fee?

The fee, if any, is negotiated and paid by the buyer to the seller for the right to conduct “Due Diligence”. The amount of the fee may be influenced by matter such as the market for the property, number of days on the market, personal circumstances of buyer and seller, and the length of the “Due Diligence” period.

If the buyer is not satisfied with the seller’s response, or lack thereof, to repair requests, what can the buyer do?
